What is Color
Color in all forms, saturations, and hues is merely a reflection of light. Light has properties of healing and spirituality and that is why you often hear talk about a light body.
There are even theories that the world we are all life we perceive is a simulation. And while I wouldn't call it a simulation there is some truth to this theory that all matter and energy is made up of vibration: Movements of light.
Color therapy otherwise known as chromotherapy is simply using the already existing properties of color to transform the energy within and around us.
There are endless techniques for using color therapy for healing and transformation that go back to the ancient Egyptians, such as meditation, light bathing, and manifestation application. {Manifestation means to come into the physical.}

Color can have biological and psychological impacts as it stimulates your mind, body, and spirit.
A common example is the way the sun feels when you are outside on a hike, as the sun penetrates your skin it can feel revitalizing to you and even bring you into a state of bliss.
Personal Significance
You have spent your entire life around color. Maybe you're even an artist in some form and color is a passion of yours.
Regardless of your passions and the way you live your life I'm sure there are colors that have significant meaning to you.
What is your favorite color and why is it your favorite color? Mine is Lavender and in my childhood bedroom, I even painted one of my walls in a dreamy lavender shade.
To me Lavender is nostalgic, it reminds me of innocence and new beginnings. This is my personal significance to the pastel color.
Personal significance is very powerful when it comes to ritual because it stems from a direct channel that is already within you. However, you don't have to have any special connections with any shade to indulge in chromotherapy.

When it comes to color therapy there are general color correspondences that are a really good base to jump off of.

Meditation
In combination with color therapy meditation can be extremely useful for healing and disciplinary purposes. While in meditation you can visualize sitting beneath a stream of light whose color matches your meditation purposes.
By visual bathing yourself in the light you allow the color to penetrate through your crown chakra into the rest of your light and physical body. It's also one of my favorite techniques for meditation because of its simplicity.
It's very difficult for drive-by thoughts to happen when your mind is completely focused on a sun of your very own choosing.
You can visualize this color light going through you in any form, maybe it streams in through a window, or through a skylight.
You can imagine this sun of colored light to be directly above your head or deep in outer space as its beams penetrate the atmosphere, there is no wrong way to visualize this light.
Another option for using color in meditation is to imagine every breath you take in to be of the color of your intentions. If I am looking for healing and emotional relief I turn to the Earth's green lushness.
With each inhale I feel the green breath of the Earth pulling into my body from my nostrils and moving along through my Chakra channels settling where I need it most.
So in the case of healing any emotional trauma, this green breath would settle in my heart center and purify it so that I may use divine love to have an emotional transformation.
Color Bathing
Color bathing is a much more physical approach and requires you to have a color changing light source. You simply change your led light to whatever color fits your purpose and you sit in this light.
Allow the light to penetrate through your skin into your spirit to transform any energy you feel is stagnant. You are literally bathing yourself in the light and reeling in all of its natural healing properties.
Other uses
Whether you want to just use color for a quick meditation or add it to a complex ritual knowing the properties of colors is fundamental to anyone's mindfulness practice.
On a gloomy day, you can wear a bright yellow sweater to bring you optimism, or wear your favorite red lipstick so you feel powerful in your next meeting.
You can know your spiritual guides are near bringing healing with a beautiful vision of royal purple. Colors can even help you to identify which omens bring good change or tribulation.

There are zero bonds when it comes to using color and I am advising you to never feel limited, the more out of the box your idea is the more inclined you should feel to give it a try.
From makeup, clothes, headwraps, altar cloths, candles, mojo bags, school notebooks, personal journals, everything, ect. There is nothing in this world that can help you see the magic in the world like being mindful of colors.
