Herbology 102 How to charge your herbs for successful energy manipulation

Whenever you are performing a ritual or spell, it is extremely important to raise the energy you need in order to create the results you want. It doesn't always have to come from within you, it's even recommended by elder practitioners to never use your own energy for ongoing energy manipulation. You'll find that rituals and spell work not of the highest vibration will yield no result, they will decrease the overall energy not only in you but around you.

I learned this lesson the hard way during my journey I was able to achieve the result I wanted, but it was a much longer, much more difficult process. I would experience fatigue after ritual practices and a chaotic transition to manifest what I desired.

This lesson taught me the importance of loss versus gain. There is always a lesson with loss and I am grateful for the journey I have taken so that I can be the practitioner that I am today, this way I share what I learned with you!

One of my absolute favorite magickal tools I use to achieve successful manifestation is herbs. I am a plant mother who loves to cook so im sure you can understand my obsession.

The Significance

Along my journey of rediscovering my roots, I realized how important it was to attune myself to the frequency of gratitude. Not to just think it or say it but to actually embody it so that gratitude and abundance emanate from my light body. Everything you come past in life touches your light body, and it is essential to my practice to keep my light body as pure as possible so that goodness will follow me throughout my life.

What I am about to show you elevated my practice to the next level and is something I do every time botanicals are used in my ritual. Note: read herbology 101 for a brief introduction to using herbs in your craft

After gathering all the magickal tools you will use in your ritual, you can recite a prayer from my personal grimoire over your herbs to cleanse, bless and honor them. This prayer will give you a perfectly clean slate; all lingering energy will be removed so that they then may be charged.

Personally, I will recite this prayer over each individual jar of herbs or collectively depending on their origin and the last time they received this prayer. You will know best.

Sit with your herbs, do they feel pure and ready to get to work? Do some or all of them need an individual blessing or can they be blessed collectively?

Clear the chatter of your mind and just meditate for a moment about your intentions for this ritual and what should be done to attune your magickal tools to this goal.

Typically this is a quick decision for me as my herbs resided in a rather sacred space, but it wasn't always like this. Never feel embarrassed for the length of time it take you to master your craft. Never feel like one method is the only method you can use or even try.

What resonates with me might not resonate with you and that’s okay. These prayers are what I use but a prayer more tailored to your practice is what will work the best, especially if you are more intermediate or advanced practitioner.

Sometimes I will change this prayer to acknowledge certain deities or just speak from the heart. Often this is the go-to structure for prayer that I have set up for myself.

Prayer to Bless your Herbs

From seed, to root, to sprout, to the (dried/fresh) Insert plant names here that have found their way to me. I am forever grateful for the journey of their life so that I may give them a new purpose. Blessed are the hands that have toiled the Earth and have prepared these herbs. May all lingering energy that will not assist me in my ritual work be returned to mother Earth, the source from which it originates.

Thank you to the five elements as they have given life to these herbs and watched them grow into now my divine tools of energy manipulation. My deepest gratitude to these herbs as I humbly accept them into my life and into my craft. May the magic I create honor the great journey they have taken to be with me today.

Now your herbs cleansed and honored and are prepared to be charged. This is the part of your ritual where you designate the role of each of your herbs. This must be done individually with each herb., and will help you in deciding which herbs you actually need in your ritual.

For example, basil can be used for money, success, abundance, and peace. But in a mojo hand, I would use basil to bring money to me so my intentions for basil would be just that.

Example: Thank you basil for joining me in the ritual today. I ask that you assist me in bringing money to me so that I may have an ever-flowing river of wealth into my wallet.

This can be done with a premade blend such as protection, road opening, come to me, ect.. And is also the method I use when I want to out ritual blends for honoring certain deities and even dressings on candles dedicated to them.

Then the fun can begin and you can get into the meat of your ritual!
